Terms of Service

Last updated: June 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Dreamward at godreamward.com (the "Service"), operated by Richard Jacobsen, a sole proprietor based in Cedar Lake, Indiana, USA ("Dreamward," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. What Dreamward does

Dreamward is gross-margin tracking and Schedule-C profit-and-loss software for small businesses. It connects to your sales channels (such as Shopify, Wix, Square, and Etsy), accepts file uploads (CSV/TSV/XLSX spreadsheets and PDF invoices), and lets you record sales and expenses manually. It uses AI to extract structured financial data — vendor, amount, date, category, and similar fields — from the files you upload. Dreamward displays your data in dashboards, reports, and exports for use in your own accounting and tax workflows.

Dreamward is not an accounting firm. We do not provide accounting, bookkeeping, tax, financial, legal, or investment advice. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all data extracted by the Service before using it for tax filing, financial reporting, or any other regulated purpose. We strongly recommend reviewing AI-extracted data before relying on it.

2. Eligibility and accounts

To use the Service, you must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract. You may use the Service only for lawful purposes related to your business or personal financial management.

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account and any other credentials used to access the Service
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring that the email content you process through Dreamward does not violate the rights of others, applicable laws, or third-party agreements

If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at Dreamwardsystems@gmail.com.

3. Subscriptions and billing

The Service is offered on a monthly subscription. Every plan includes every product feature — there are no feature-gated tiers. Your price is set by your business's size: we place you in one of seven revenue bands, based on the trailing twelve months of revenue you track in Dreamward, ranging from $10/month (under $5,000 in revenue) to $99/month ($300,000+). Your band is reviewed periodically and may move up or down as your revenue changes; a band change takes effect on your next billing cycle and is not applied retroactively. Current band pricing is listed at godreamward.com.

Free trial. New accounts begin with a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, you may subscribe to a paid plan or your access will be limited.

Billing. All subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal date until you cancel.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access until that date.

Price changes. We may change prices from time to time. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance, and changes take effect at your next renewal.

4. Refund policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on initial paid subscriptions. If you are unsatisfied with the Service within 14 days of your first paid charge, email Dreamwardsystems@gmail.com with your account email and we will refund that charge in full.

The 14-day money-back guarantee applies only to the first paid period of an account. Subsequent renewals, plan upgrades, and downgrades are not refundable. Pro-rated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations are not provided; you retain access through the end of the period you paid for.

5. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Scrape, copy, or use automated tools to access the Service except for the API features we explicitly provide
  • Use the Service to process data you do not have legal authority to access
  • Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data
  • Send spam, malware, or abusive content through the Service or its email features
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service to others without our written consent
  • Use the Service in a manner that disrupts or harms our infrastructure or other users

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. In serious cases (such as security threats or illegal activity), we may suspend access without prior notice.

6. Your data and intellectual property

Your data is yours. You retain all rights to the files, sales data, and other content you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to access, process, and display that data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We are not your data custodian. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important financial data. While we maintain the Service with reasonable care (Section 9), you should not rely on Dreamward as your sole record of financial information.

Our software is ours. The Dreamward name, logo, software, designs, and documentation are owned by Richard Jacobsen and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights to Dreamward itself.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use that feedback to improve the Service, with no obligation to compensate or credit you.

7. Third-party services

Dreamward integrates with services operated by third parties, including Google (sign-in), Shopify, Wix, Square, Etsy, Stripe, Anthropic, Vercel, Railway, and Resend. Your use of these services through Dreamward is subject to those companies' terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices, availability, or content of third-party services.

If a third-party service we depend on becomes unavailable or changes its terms, we may modify the Service to adapt, including discontinuing affected features.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.

We specifically do not warrant:

  • That the data extracted by AI is accurate or complete
  • That the Service will meet your specific accounting, tax, or business needs
  • That the Service will be available at all times or free from errors
  • That data submitted to the Service will not be lost (despite our reasonable security measures)

Dreamward does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. Use the Service as a productivity tool, and consult a qualified professional before making decisions based on the data it produces.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $100 USD.
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Richard Jacobsen and Dreamward from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your use or misuse of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party right (including intellectual property, privacy, or data protection rights) through your use of the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by canceling your subscription and deleting your account.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your subscription payment fails and is not corrected, or if we discontinue the Service. We will provide reasonable notice of termination except in cases involving security or legal risk.

Upon termination, your data is handled according to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers and posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree to a change, your only remedy is to cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lake County, Indiana, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

You agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting us at Dreamwardsystems@gmail.com before initiating any formal legal proceeding.

14. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right.

No assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a sale of the business or similar transaction.

Notices. We will send notices to the email address associated with your account. You may send notices to Dreamwardsystems@gmail.com.
